Bob and I met back in 1994 when we both were going through divorces. We immediately hit it off and dated for 2 years before we were married in 1996. We will soon celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary!!! WOW!!!
Bob grew up in Mississippi and moved to Texas in 1977. I am a 4th and 5th generation Texan and grew up in Austin Texas. We are a blended family of two daughters (Bob's) and one son (Kay's), and four grandchildren. We made a home in Dripping Springs till 2001 when my son graduated from DSHS and then we moved to San Marcos.
Early on we both had a love of travel and adventure. We would go motorcycle riding, hiking, and biking on a regular basis.
I have always had a passion for photography (since I was 4 years old) and scrapbooking. While I studied photography in college, I graduated with an Interior Design degree from Texas Christian University. Most of my life it was just a hobby, while I went off to do other things. Wearing many hats, I kept coming back to my passion of recording and preserving important moments in life, so taking my photography skills to a professional level a few years back, seemed like a natural path for me.
Bob went to Mississippi State University majoring in business. He enjoyed spelunking, hiking, and flying. He took flying lessons as a young man in hopes of becoming a commercial pilot, but color blindness got the best of him, so he chose another career path. He found a love for selling and he is quite good at it. His career took him all over the world logging over a million miles on commercial flights.
In 2017, we went to Colorado for a photography workshop. We decided to take our Minnie Winnie motor home and camp with the others. We had a blast and as we were pulling out of the park to go home, we stopped and said 'if we take a right we don't have to go home, but if we take a left, we have to go back home'. We didn't want to take that left, but of course, we did. While Bob has wanted to live on the road for quite some time, it wasn't until that moment that I even considered it. We weighed all options and decided to sell everything, buy an RV, and hit the road.
It took us about 9 months to get things packed up, donated, and stored. The house didn't even get on the market it sold so fast. Bob retired from his corporate job and we left at 3:00 p.m. on May 15, 2018.
We traveled west first for 2018, then the central states for 2019, then the north-east for 2020, and we will head east again for 2021.
Thanks for getting to know us a little and welcome to our journey.
